About Us

Our Troop was established in 2003 and resides in District N District of  Northern Star Council. We meet all year round twice a month in Shakopee. We aim to run a Scout-driven program with an active advancement program. We have monthly outings that include camping trips, biking trips, hiking trips, and camporees. We camp using the Patrol Method with our own Troop patrol boxes and equipment. Our Troop Committee consists of dedicated parent volunteers who believe strongly in the aims of Scouts BSA. To date, over 50 Troop 619 Scouts have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. We attend a week-long summer camp each year. We have been to Many Point Camp in northern Minnesota, Tesomas Camp, Camp Phillips and Tomahawk Scout Reservation in northern Wisconsin. In addition to the week-long summer camps, the Troop participates in high-adventure outings. In the past these have included Ok-Pik a deep winter camping experience, Double H and Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico, kayaking in Lake Superior, Conoeing in the Boundry Waters, and Seabase Adventures in the Florida Keys. Our Troop is actively involved the Order of the Arrow (Scouting’s National Honor Society) and also sends Scouts each year to Grey Wolf National Youth Leadership Training.

Scouts and their families are encouraged to participate in fundraisers to help raise money to help fund future activities and campouts. Those that participate can use these activity funds to cover expenses for all Troop related activities and outings. Each scouting family has ample opportunities to significantly reduce their out of pocket scouting expenses.

We welcome new scouts year round, and are available to answer any questions. Visit our "Contact Us" page to request additional information regarding Scout Troop 619.
